Subject: Warranty repair
We had a recent repair performed by Air Ease, 11-20-2012, for which we were charged full prices for parts, service, and labor. However, based on the attached letter, the parts (pump) and therefore labor (labor allowance) should have been provided under the warranty.
The letter states:
"WaterFurnace equipment residential air handler, accessories such as thermostats and pumps are warranties for a period of 5 years."
Please revise and refund the appropriate balance.
Additionally, there were several service calls to Air Ease in 2010 and 2011, at least 2-3 pumps were replaced already, and other repairs were performed as well. Please provide detailed list of dates, parts, and repairs provided, as this will extend the warranty on those individual parts. We were never provided any appropriate paperwork for those repairs.
Thank you in advance for your prompt handling of these issues.

Re: WaterFurnace Warranty
Hello {name}:
I am providing you warranty information for the geothermal system installed in your home. Please keep this for your reference.
WaterFurnace residental parts are warranted for a period of 10 years from start up or ship date – whatever date is established. WaterFurnace residental air handler, accessories such as thermostats and pumps are warrantied for period of 5 years.
Labor to replace or repair the warranted parts is provided by WaterFurnace in the form of Labor Allowance. This helps offset the costs of repairs. However, this does not fully cover the cost of labor.
Installation of the WaterFurnace equipment is warranted by Air-ease for a period of 1 year from the date of completion.
All labor cost not covered by the WaterFurnace labor allowance, will be charged to you at the current Air-ease labor rate plus any other cost not covered by this warranty. Filters and regular maintenance are not covered by this warranty.
My records indicate your geothermal system installation has expired. The geothermal system parts are under warranty through 3/2/2020.
Please call my office if you have any questions.
Thanks.

The pump was not a WaterFurnace part - it was a Wilo circulating pump for the first floor radiant. There are other manufacturers parts which make your geothermal installation, not just the WaterFurnace brand. ONLY the WaterFurnace brand and its named components are covered by this warranty.
Hope this helps.

REPLY FROM THE RESIDENTS:
Ok, that was the confusing part then.
What about the other pumps already fixed in 2010/2011 - we just don't want to pay for them if one of them breaks again (ie. when they were replaced in 2010 / 2011 they could still be on the 2 year warranty). On the replaced pump a few days ago Bob put the date, but there were no dates on the ones that were replaced. That's why we hope you keep the record because for now we don't have it.
